But that isn’t an accusation or recrimination. It simply has to do with the recognition of cause and effect. If I am clear of everything around me that I cause, either directly or indirectly, then I’ve suddenly got a lot more possibilities in life.

I don’t have to get upset about someone who’s done something to me. Rather, I can ask myself: how did I cause this? When I discover how, I can then change this spiritual setting, this behaviour, and thereby remove these causes.

If I’m always pointing the finger at others, at the bad things, and don’t change my own programming, which caused everything in the first place, it will happen again and again.

And we all know that from time to time the same things do happen again and again.

An example from my (Clemens’s) seminars:

A seminar participant, Klaus, has the following problem: in three weeks he’s had three rear-end collisions. But, and this is what’s curious, none of them was his fault. It was always another driver running into him.

Fate? Bad luck? Or just a coincidence?

Now he was open enough to accept none of these. So we sat down together and contemplated what these things were trying to tell him.

A rear-end collision is a really powerful push from behind. If he had driven faster in this situation (if this were possible for him to do), it’s possible that the accident wouldn’t have happened. So I asked him, ‘Is there a situation in your life at the moment where you aren’t making progress and where you always need a push from outside?’

Just a tenth of a second later came the answer, ‘Ooohhh, yeah!’

He saw that professionally (and speaking of profession, it was a company car!) he was stuck in a dead end and wasn’t ready to reach a concrete decision even though he was constantly being pushed by his wife.

He recognised that the accidents were just a result of his indecisiveness: a sign that he needed a push. Then he gave himself a push and within one day he made a definitive decision towards the welfare of his professional progress for the welfare of his family and for the welfare of his accident record. Since that time, and it’s been five years now, he’s driven without a single accident.

You probably know the saying that it’s better to give than to receive.

It’s often abused even if we are ignorant of the actual reason.

You know: everything comes back to us.

Should you belong to that group of people who would rather take than give, you’ve inevitably got a ‘take’ programme. Due to your wavelengths, you probably principally attract people to you who take. You can’t find anyone (or hardly anyone) who gives. So you can’t take as much as you’d probably like. In the extreme, it becomes even clearer: when everyone is taking, there’s no one there to give. And if no one’s giving, then we’ve got to get it somehow. That’s called stealing. But as we know, even that comes back to us.

If you want to get something, you have to begin to give.
